Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ScrubIn iOS app, the getscrubin.com website, and any related services (collectively, “ScrubIn”). By creating an account or using ScrubIn, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ScrubIn.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a ScrubIn account, or at least 13 years old with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. By using ScrubIn, you represent that you meet these requirements.

What ScrubIn Is

ScrubIn is an educational tool for surgical learners. medical students, residents, fellows, attendings, and pre-health learners. It provides board-style practice questions, clinical scenarios, mastery tracking, and related study tools across plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and related specialties.

ScrubIn is not a substitute for clinical training, supervised practice, institutional protocols, board certification curricula, or your own professional judgment. Content reflects the best efforts of our contributors but may contain errors or become outdated as medical practice evolves.

Not Medical Advice

Nothing in ScrubIn constitutes medical, diagnostic, or clinical advice and nothing in the app is intended to be used for the care of any specific patient. Always rely on your training, your attending’s guidance, your institution’s protocols, and current clinical guidelines when making patient care decisions. Do not enter any patient information (PHI) into the app.

Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. You agree to provide accurate information when signing up and to update it as needed. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. See our Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others, or use someone else’s account
  • Scrape, copy, redistribute, or republish ScrubIn content outside the app
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of ScrubIn
  • Use ScrubIn to train or fine-tune AI models without our written permission
  • Enter patient information (PHI) or anyone else’s personal information into the app
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with ScrubIn’s infrastructure
  • Use ScrubIn in any way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights

Subscriptions and Purchases

ScrubIn may offer optional paid tiers (“Pro” or similar) unlocking additional features. In-app purchases on iOS are processed by Apple under its standard terms. Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple ID account settings. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple per its refund policy.

Intellectual Property

All ScrubIn content. questions, explanations, scenarios, diagrams, software, and branding. is owned by ScrubIn or its content contributors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your account grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to access ScrubIn for personal educational use only.

User Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or content reports through the app or to our support team, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that feedback to improve ScrubIn without obligation to you.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to ScrubIn at our discretion if you violate these Terms or if continued access would be unsafe or unlawful. You may stop using ScrubIn and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

Disclaimer of Warranties

ScrubIn is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that ScrubIn will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that content is current, accurate, or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrubIn and its founders, employees, contractors, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) ScrubIn. Our total liability for any claim relating to ScrubIn will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ScrubIn harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of ScrubIn, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or ScrubIn will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Apple App Store Terms

If you download ScrubIn from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ScrubIn (not Apple), and that Apple is not responsible for ScrubIn or its content. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of ScrubIn after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
